Knock EPC Holiday Bible Club – “Out of this world!”

On week beginning Monday the 28th July through to Friday the 1st August we ran our Holiday Bible Club at Knock.  It took place each evening between 6.30pm – 8.45pm, the first hour was craft (related to the story) and games, then the remainder of the time we had our meeting.   We were using the CEF materials and the theme this year was ‘Out of this World’ meaning that God’s love to us is out of this world,  and then also a space theme of rockets and space adventure as well.

Our meeting was lead each night by ‘Captain Julie’ along with a trusty Flight-lieutenant Helen by her side. We would have singing, a bible story, memory verse, a quiz each night, as well as a time to go into our ‘corners’ to complete booklets which was a record of the teaching each night at club.  The gospel was presented clearly through the following Bible stories; made in God’s image, Jonah, the woman at the well, the ten lepers healed, and the death and resurrection of Jesus.

On Wednesday evening we invited parents along to sit in on the club and have a BBQ with us,  this was a great evening with a good number of parents attending.  The Lord really blessed us through the whole week with his protective hand of safety over us, along with the good behaviour of the children and great listening each night.  Some of the comments of the children were that the holiday bible club was really good and really fun.

It must also be said that as a team of leaders and helpers the Lord poured out his blessing on us too.  We had such a great week together serving the Lord in this small way, the joy that he gives is a delight and further blessing from him.  It is a great reminder of one of the memory verses that we learnt throughout the week; 1 John 3:1  “Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed on us, that we should be called the children of God”.
