It was a joy to see two new Elders installed in the Stranmillis congregation on the evening of Sunday 22nd March. Stephen Woolsey & Derek Johnston were ordained and installed by a Commission of Presbytery, led by Rev Andy Hambleton. It was a wonderful evening, with the congregation joined by friends & family, as well as some from the wider church.

The Commission consisting of Rev Andy Hambleton, Rev Ethan McCarter and Mervyn Langtry (Clerk), led the service. After the act of ordination & installation, Andy preached a lovely sermon from John 15, pointing us to the true vine, in whom we must abide to see fruitfulness in our lives & congregations. A brilliant evening was concluded with a wonderful supper kindly provided by the Stranmillis ladies. You can view the service here.

This was a momentous occasion for the congregation, and a gracious answer to many prayers. We thank God for providing new Elders for his Church. Please remember Stephen & Derek in prayer as they begin to serve in a new capacity.
