Crumlin Football Camp
From the 15th to 17th of April, a Football Camp was held at Crumlin EPC, in conjunction with Ambassadors Football. On each of the three evenings, boys and girls from the local area came along to take part in training sessions, learning new skills, and playing matches against one another. At ‘half time’ each evening, the children enjoyed some well-earned refreshments, and listened to a short ‘team talk’, explaining the good news of Jesus and what he has done to deal with the problem of our sin, and how we can become his followers. On the final evening, the children were divided into different teams and we played a ‘World Cup’ competition, before medals and trophies were handed out.
Whilst our numbers were a little hindered by some bad weather and also the varying holiday dates for different schools in the area, those children who did come along to the Football Camp had a great time, and several of them were asking when we would be running the camp again in the future. It was certainly a worthwhile venture, which gave us links with various families in the community that we had not had contact with before. It is our hope to run the camp again in the Summer next year, and to build on the foundation of what we were able to accomplish this year.
Our thanks go to Ambassadors Football, for the helpful organisation and leadership that they provided in the running of the camp. Please be praying for the boys and girls who came along, that God would work in their hearts, and that we would have ongoing contact with them and their families in the future.
